What gets collected

rld3.com is a static personal blog. There are no accounts, no advertising, and no tracking cookies. I do keep basic, cookieless analytics so I can see which writing gets read, but it stays aggregate and anonymous: I don't know who you are, and the site is built to keep it that way.

Analytics

I use Google Analytics 4, configured in cookieless mode. It sets no cookies and saves nothing on your device. What it records is aggregate and anonymous: page views, rough location (usually country or region), and general device type, so I can tell which posts land. Your IP address is used only momentarily to estimate that location and is not stored by me; Google processes it under its own terms. None of it identifies you, and I don't try to. Any content blocker, or Google's opt-out, will stop it.

Local storage

A few things are saved in your own browser's local storage, and never leave your device: your asteroids high score, your easter-egg progress, and whether you've dismissed the storage notice. Clearing your browser data removes them.

The contact form

If you use the contact form, the name, email address, and message you submit are processed and stored by Netlify (this site's host) and forwarded to me. I use them only to read and reply to your message. I don't share them with anyone else. If you'd like a submission deleted, email me and I'll remove it.

Hosting

The site is hosted by Netlify, which, like any web host, keeps standard server logs (including IP addresses) for security and operations. See Netlify's privacy policy for how they handle that.
